Q: How do table bookings work?

A: Tables can be booked in two hour slots at £4 per person. With this you get access to our entire 100+ Games Library. Ask the staff how to play! Book here!
Tables for war games are £7 per person for a 4 hour slot.

Q: Can I book for 8 or more people?

A: Yes! Please contact us to arrange this.

Q: What if I need a table for more than two hours?

A: For a 4 hour booking, please book 2 consecutive slots. For more than 4 hours please contact us.

Q: Do I have to reserve a board game from the board game library? Can I reserve one?

A: Our board game library is first come first serve. However, if there's a particular board game you'd like us to set aside, please get in touch and we will try our best to accommodate your request.

Q: I want to play Warhammer 40k/Malifaux/miniatures game and need a larger table!

A: Please book a table for war games.

Q: Can I move my booking?

A: If you need to change your booking, please contact us and we will try our best to make the change.

Q: Can I cancel my booking?

A: Please try to give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel. It can be done by the MANAGE BOOKING link in the booking confirmation email or by contacting us.

Q: I can’t book a table online/The slot I want is in red!

A: The slot is not available. We’re either sold out or there is an event happening at that time. Please try booking a different time. Please note that online bookings must be made at least 2 hours in advance.

Q: There’s a problem with the website/online booking!

A: Please let us know and we’ll get it fixed ASAP!


Q: Can I play x on y event night? E.g. Can I play board games on wargame night?

A: No, event nights are reserved for the event in question. You are welcome to book to play outside of event times.

Q: Can I sit and watch if the event is sold out?

A: No, for safety reasons, we have capacity limits.

Q: I’ve never tried ___, can I still play?

A: Yes! All experience levels are welcome!

Q: What time to regular event nights finish?

A: No later than 11pm.


Q: Are dogs allowed?

A: Dogs are very welcome!

Q: Do you sell food/drink?

A: We sell tea, coffee, soft drinks and cookies.

Q: Can I bring food/drink in?

A: Yes!

Q: Is the space accessible?

A: Yes! We are all on one level with no stairs and with an accessible toilet for customer use.

Q: Do you play music?

A: We do not play any music but the shop can become noisier during busier periods. Our quieter hours are weekdays before 4pm.

Q: Someone at the shop is making me uncomfortable, what do I do?

A: Please contact a member of staff. We are committed to making Ancient Robot Games a safe space. Please see our policy here.

Q: Do you have any age limits?

A: No, all ages are welcome, however not all games may be suitable. Also, please note that alcohol may be consumed on the premises.
